In pursuit of the broader objective to facilitate the introduction of a modern, effective and sustainable public transport system, in November 2019, NaMATA advertised a tender for the design and construction of BRT facilities along the Thika Super Highway from Ruiru to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) via CBD. The project commenced on 4th August 2020. it involves the design and construction of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) facilities on Thika Superhighway Corridor (Clayworks-Ruiru-Nairobi CBD- Kenyatta National Hospital section).
